The results of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections have given the National Democratic Alliance a historic victory. According to the results announced on November 14, the NDA won 202 of the 243 seats, while the opposition Grand Alliance was reduced to 35. This victory reflects the strength of the alliance between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The BJP won 89 seats, the Janata Dal (United) 85, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) 15, the Hindustani Awam Morcha 8, and the Rashtriya Lok Morcha 5. The opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) won 20 seats, the Congress 4, and others 11. During the vote count, Prime Minister Modi stated at the BJP headquarters that this was a victory for development and good governance. He described women and youth as the new MY formula, which negated the opposition's communal agenda. Nitish Kumar posted on Instagram that the people of the state have reposed their trust in his government, and Bihar will now be counted among the most developed states in the country. But this victory not only brings a return to power, but also a responsibility to fulfill the promises made in the manifesto released on October 31st. The NDA made 10 major promises focused on youth, women, farmers, the poor, and infrastructure, which must now be implemented. These promises promise to transform Bihar's economic and social situation.  | |
