ED raids properties of Bhupesh Baghel's close aides, case is connected to liquor scam investigation | |
ED raided 14 places in Durg district of Chhattisgarh this morning, i.e. on March 10, during the investigation of a major liquor scam related to money laundering. One of these places also included the premises related to former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. These include the residence of his son Chaitanya Baghel and the premises of his close associates including Lakshmi Narayan Bansal. This investigation is being conducted by the Enforcement Directorate regarding the huge loss of about Rs 2,161 crore to the state treasury due to the liquor scam. In which it is alleged that the proceeds of crime have been allegedly withdrawn through various fraudulent schemes. According to the Enforcement Directorate, Chaitanya Baghel is believed to be one of the recipients of these illegal funds.  | |
