Become the Paintshop HOD to boost Productivity Job Description To oversee and direct all activities in our Paintshop facility in Chennai, which specialises in painting injection-molded plastic components, we are looking for a highly qualified and results-driven Head of Department (HOD). You will be in charge of making sure that paint finishes are applied to our moulded goods in a timely, safe, and high-quality manner while satisfying exacting customer, durability, and aesthetic requirements. Responsibilities Establish and implement the Paintshop's overall strategy and objectives, ensuring that they align with the company's injection moulding production goals, quality requirements, and customer requests. Lead and supervise the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) procedure for paint-related defects to guarantee thorough root cause analysis and a successful resolution. For plastic painting, keep an eye on the functioning of atomisers, paint circulation systems, and environmental control systems (air balancing, filtering). Oversee relationships with paint and chemical suppliers, collaborating to introduce new products, offer technical support, and ensure quality and price. Promote innovation in process automation, paint application techniques, and material selection that are relevant to plastic components. Skills: Good knowledge of the quality requirements for painted plastic surfaces, such as durability, adhesion, look, and chemical and scratch resistance. demonstrated team management and leadership abilities, as well as the capacity to inspire, guide, and cultivate a diverse workforce. Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a focus on identifying the underlying causes of paint flaws in plastics.
