Mumbai market witnessed a drop in Acrylic Acid prices today, with rates falling by Rs.2/kg After speaking with local traders, it has been understood that while stock availability remains tight, the booking activity from downstream buying sectors has noticeably declined. As a result, today's price has come down from Rs.102/kg to Rs.100/kg. Last six month price trend Over the past six months, Acrylic Acid prices have experienced notable fluctuations. From December 6 to February 5, the market saw consistent ups and downs, though the movements largely remained within a normal range. However, on February 8, prices started rising sharply from Rs.94/kg, eventually reaching a peak of Rs.110/kg by mid-April. Since April 23, prices began to soften again, falling to Rs.102/kg by May 19. With today’s Rs.2/kg correction, the product now stands at Rs.100/kg, reflecting subdued demand from the end-user industries despite limited supply in the region. Market participants are expected to keep a close watch on demand trends to anticipate further movements. Key raw material propylene last six month price trend In the Indian market, Propylene prices have shown limited volatility over the past six months. On December 24, prices were recorded at USD 825/MT, after which a gradual upward movement was observed, pushing the rates to USD 870/MT by the beginning of March. However, during this period, prices remained periodically stable for short durations. Following a stable phase until March 29, the market began to cool off again. Prices started to correct and eventually dropped to USD 820/MT by mid-May.
