The Delhi plastic film market saw a correction today as prices for BOPP (Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene) transparent film of 18-micron thickness slipped by Rs.2/kg On June 3, 2025, the grade was trading at Rs.148/kg, which fell to Rs.146/kg on June 4, 2025. Traders attribute this price decline to sluggish demand from the packaging sector and increasing competition from lower-priced regional suppliers. With no immediate signs of bulk buying, many converters and distributors are adopting a wait-and-watch approach, hoping for further price stabilization. A distributor based in Delhi noted, “The packaging segment is currently facing volume pressure, and with sufficient inventory in the system, buyers are not rushing in. Until fresh orders pick up, prices may continue to hover or even soften slightly.” The current decline marks a shift in sentiment after weeks of relatively steady pricing. Some market players believe the drop may be temporary and linked to short-term inventory adjustments. However, others feel that unless downstream demand improves, the softness could persist.
