Isophthalic Acid (make: Lotte Korea) prices witnessed a fresh upward movement in the Delhi market today, driven by increased booking interest from buyers. After speaking with market participants, it was observed that procurement activity has picked up in recent days, prompting suppliers to revise their offers upward to match the rising demand. Today, the price of Isophthalic Acid rose by Rs.5/kg, moving up from Rs.95/kg to Rs.100/kg. Traders noted that consistent inquiries and active buying from downstream sectors such as PET resins and coatings have supported this price hike. The sudden demand spurt has shifted market sentiment towards a firmer tone after weeks of sluggishness. Looking at the six-month price trend, the market had remained largely stable between 14 January and 4 April, with only minor fluctuations. However, from 15 April onwards, the price had been on a gradual decline — dropping from Rs.103/kg to Rs.95/kg by 4 July. Today’s price increase marks the first significant upward correction after this extended downtrend. Traders are now closely watching whether this demand revival sustains or remains short-lived.
