In the Delhi market, the price of Nylon FDY grade 70D/24F saw a sharp decline of Rs. 4, slipping from Rs.192/kg on July 21 to Rs. 188/kg on July 22. This fall has stirred the interest of textile manufacturers and traders, particularly those dealing in high-tenacity synthetic yarns. Nylon FDY 70D/24F is a fine-denier, 24-filament fully drawn yarn, widely used in the production of high-quality hosiery, stretch fabrics, sportswear, and lightweight woven or knitted textiles. Its consistent strength, elasticity, and abrasion resistance make it a preferred choice in both the garment and industrial textile segments. The current price dip appears to be driven by muted downstream demand combined with increased availability in the northern market. Weavers and garment manufacturers are reportedly holding back on fresh purchases due to uncertain retail movement and slow fabric offtake. Additionally, with raw material costs such as caprolactam remaining stable to soft, producers are facing pressure to adjust prices downward to stay competitive.
