Polyacrylamide (Cationic Grade) Prices Drop Sharply in Mumbai Market
July 23, 2025 | Mumbai: The Mumbai chemical market has reported a sharp decline in Polyacrylamide (Cationic Grade) prices, falling by ₹4/kg from ₹195/kg on July 22 to ₹191/kg on July 23. The price correction comes despite stable demand from industries like water treatment, paper processing, textiles, and oil drilling, where the product remains a key raw material. According to traders, the dip is driven primarily by selective unloading of stocks by mid-level distributors ahead of anticipated transportation disruptions due to monsoon conditions. Bulk buyers, expecting further softening, have slowed procurement, creating a temporary illusion of oversupply. In reality, supply pipelines remain inconsistent due to import delays and port congestion. Manufacturers confirm that consumption levels remain steady, but price volatility has made them cautious. Many are avoiding large-scale stocking and shifting to short-term or staggered procurement models. A procurement officer from a leading paper chemical company noted, “Our usage hasn’t dropped, but due to daily price fluctuations, we are avoiding bulk commitments and working on short rolling contracts.”Experts believe the current dip may be short-lived. With firm demand and continued import-side uncertainty, prices could rebound once logistical conditions stabilize post-monsoon. Buyers are advised to plan staggered purchases and maintain buffer stock to manage risk during this volatile phase, Polyacrylamide Prices in India, Indian Polyacrylamide Prices, Indian Prices Polyacrylamide, IndianPetrochem. #PolyacrylamidePricesinIndia #IndianPolyacrylamidePrices #IndianpricesPolyacrylamide #IndianPetrochem
