Mumbai, July 28 (Textile Today) – Spandex yarn of 30D grade in Mumbai market has recorded a Rs. 3 decrease, slipping from Rs. 363 on July 26 to Rs. 360 on July 28. This grade is widely used in knitting, weaving and covering applications, particularly in high-stretch garments like sportswear, swimwear, leggings, underwear, socks, gloves, and elastic tapes, valued for its high elasticity, comfort, lightweight feel and resilience. The price softening in Mumbai is driven by a mild dip in local demand from garment and hosiery units combined with steady raw-material input costs and stable international spandex prices. Additionally, sufficient inventory levels among regional suppliers in Mumbai have prevented supply tightness, creating mild downward pressure on rates. Regional purchasing sentiment has also remained cautious, slowing restocking activity. Given these conditions, prices are likely to remain stable or soften further modestly unless export demand picks up or there's a disruption in upstream supplies.
