Mumbai market sees a cut in Knitting Yarn prices | |
India Perochem News | 30 July, Mumbai – Knitting yarn of 20/1 combed grade witnessed a Rs.5 decline in Mumbai's textile market, with prices falling from Rs.256/kg on 29 July to Rs.251/kg on 30 July. This particular grade, known for its softness, strength, and smooth texture, is widely used in fine-quality knitwear like t-shirts, undergarments, and baby clothing. The recent price drop is primarily due to sluggish demand from garment manufacturers, increased supply from southern mills, and reduced export orders. Additionally, intermittent rainfall in Mumbai has slowed down industrial operations and logistics, affecting local buying sentiment. The cotton yarn market is also feeling pressure from weak international cotton trends and uncertain global economic cues. Looking ahead, prices may remain under slight pressure unless there is a significant revival in domestic retail demand or export inquiries in the coming weeks.
