The price of CPP (Cast Polypropylene) Metallized Film, 25-micron grade, has recorded a modest increase in the Ahmedabad market. According to Indian Petrochem analysts the cost of the material has increased by Rs.2 per kilogram on August 4, 2025. According to market data, the price was noted at Rs.143/Kg on August 2, which moved up to Rs.145/Kg by August 4, 2025. The slight price rise is being attributed to renewed demand from key downstream sectors such as snack food packaging, lamination industries, and FMCG wrappers, where metallized CPP film is preferred for its excellent barrier properties, high gloss, and shelf appeal. Market players report an uptick in procurement ahead of festive and seasonal packaging cycles, which is expected to intensify over the coming weeks. As per Indianpetrochem analysts, the demand from flexible packaging converters in western India, particularly Gujarat and Maharashtra, has shown signs of recovery. This, combined with relatively tight supply from some manufacturers due to planned maintenance shutdowns, is supporting a firmer pricing trend. Despite the price movement, resin prices—especially those related to BOPP and CPP grades—have remained relatively stable. This suggests that the current rise is demand-driven rather than cost-pushed.
