The price of Compound Rubber, grade STR20, witnessed a decline of Rs.3 per kilogram in the Ahmedabad market on August 5, 2025, As per Indian Petrochem sources, the material was quoted at Rs.150/kg, down from Rs.153/kg assessed on August 4. The price correction comes amid sluggish buying activity and a cautious sentiment in downstream industries. Traders in Ahmedabad attribute the fall to muted demand from tire manufacturers and rubber goods processors, especially in western India. With monsoon-related slowdowns affecting transport and infrastructure projects, consumption of compound rubber has been soft over the past few weeks. Additionally, inventory levels with local stockists have remained on the higher side, prompting suppliers to reduce prices slightly to maintain liquidity. According to rubber importers, the international price trend has also been under slight pressure, with Thailand-origin STR20 offering competitive rates. Global buyers have reported mild weakness in the Bangkok rubber market due to slower-than-expected demand recovery from China and Southeast Asia.
