Determine machining procedures, tooling, and dimensional requirements by interpreting technical specifications, engineering blueprints, and 3D models. Choose the right work-holding fixtures, holders, and cutting tools for the different materials and part shapes. Run tests and debug programs on VMC machines, adjusting as needed to optimise cycle times and meet part specifications. Work closely with machinists and design engineers to overcome any technical concerns and guarantee manufacturability.
