Delhi, August 12, 2025, In the Delhi plastics raw material market, the price of Polycarbonate (PC) Grade H-3000 moved upward this week. On August 11, 2025, the grade was trading at Rs.216 per kilogram, which rose to Rs.220 per kilogram on August 12, marking a Rs.4/kg increase in just one day. According to Indian petrochem, this sharp price movement reflects a combination of firm demand and upstream cost pressures. Polycarbonate Grade H-3000 is widely valued for its excellent transparency, high impact resistance, dimensional stability, and thermal endurance. It is extensively used in automotive headlamp lenses, electrical housings, optical media, medical devices, and premium consumer goods. Indian petrochem reports that the recent price increase is supported by two primary factors — an uptick in raw material costs, particularly Bisphenol-A in the Asian market, and steady-to-strong demand from downstream sectors such as automotive and electronics. Injection moulding and extrusion units have been actively sourcing material to meet both domestic and export orders. Market participants in Delhi noted that certain global producers have faced production constraints due to maintenance shutdowns, leading to reduced international availability for specific PC grades. This supply tightness has indirectly contributed to bullish sentiment in the Indian market. As per Indian petrochem, if crude oil and feedstock prices continue trending upward, PC prices in India may remain on a firm path in the short term.
