Mumbai, August 12, 2025, In the Mumbai synthetic rubber market, the price of Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (SBR) Grade 1712 remained steady at Rs.164 per kilogram on both August 11 and August 12, 2025. According to Indianpetrochem, no price movement was recorded during this two-day period, signalling a balanced market situation with stable demand and supply levels. SBR Grade 1712 is a widely used synthetic rubber variety known for its excellent abrasion resistance, flexibility, and easy processing. It is extensively used in the tyre industry, footwear soles, conveyor belts, and various industrial rubber goods. In India, this grade is produced domestically by Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), one of the largest petrochemical companies in the country. Indianpetrochem reports that the stability in SBR pricing is mainly due to steady feedstock costs for styrene and butadiene in both domestic and international markets. The demand from downstream sectors, especially tyre manufacturing units and automotive component makers, has been moderate, helping maintain price consistency. In addition, the international SBR market has not witnessed any significant volatility in the past week, and supply chains are operating normally. As per Indianpetrochem, unless there is a major surge in crude oil prices or a sudden increase in demand, the price of SBR Grade 1712 in Mumbai is expected to remain steady in the short term.
