Precipitated Silica prices on a downward trend | |
In the Mumbai plastics and chemicals market, Precipitated Silica (Producer TATA, grade -Feed Grade ) witnessed a price cut today. According to Indian Petrochem market data, this grade was priced at Rs.81/kg on August 29, 2025, which fell to Rs.80/kg on September 3, 2025 marking a Re.1/kg. Traders and market analysts said the decline was mainly due to low demand, oversupply, and sluggish procurement from downstream industries. Precipitated Silica is primarily used in rubber, tires, plastics, and paints, but procurement from these segments remained weak over the past week. Market experts, cited by Indian petrochem, noted that if demand from the rubber and tire industries does not improve, prices may see further weakness. Additionally, raw material costs and competition from imported grades put further pressure on prices.
